I love Highlands! I wish we had trees and it wasn't so dang hot here or we would get some. A local ag school does AI for free for farms in the area so you might check into that if there is an ag school nearby. Of course I've heard the Highland meet is just the BEST so you're plan is a good one too!

Do you think they could be pastured with sheep?

When we do feed grain, it's Purina Show Chow mixed with sweet feed. But we only do that at lambing time or if the hay quality is poor like we had last year.
