I always bring kits in if it's below freezing. Rabbits only feed one or two times a day anyways. I make my morning coffee, then take nestboxes out and enjoy the morning while mommas jump in and get right to feeding little ones. Good luck!
Yikes. Sky, don't feel bad. I'm willing to bet dollars to donuts this is the same "rescue" I had dealings with last year. My acreage has been sitting fallow, and I wanted to loan it to them for pasture for rescue horses. Only caveat I had was that someone would need to come help me repair...
I have to wonder if this hasn't come around in part by the growing "pepper" movement who are storing these drugs in preparation for whatever comes. There's threads about it on any prepper forum. What drugs to buy, and where to buy them for human use. I'd never use them on me, but there's an...
Good deal! I've been kicking around the idea of picking up a grinder as well, and it's nice to know the kitchenaid does a decent job. Time to put my mixer to work doing things other than making breads and sweets.
If it were bigger animals no way would I pay that much. This is a timmy/meadow mix for the rabbits only, too good for bigger stuff. If I have any left over, it's yours for the taking. Might only be six bales or so, but I figure every little bit helps and that's why I bought extra. I'm hoping...
I've seen those ads on craigslist, Sky. I was sorely tempted on one of the cow loans, but know I don't have enough hay put up for anything but the animals I currently have. A few months ago, it was hay ad after hay ad. I bought more than I needed at $7 a bale, and am thankful I did because...
Nice setups!
I'm in the same boat sort of. My original breeding stock wasn't messed with much and were very skittish when I first brought them home. It's taken a while, but they now realize I'm the person who brings tasty treats like oats and hay, and all will at least tolerate me messing...
Seems to be the way of things. What's hot today will be given away a few years from now. Look at all the past crazes. Emu, alpacas, etc.
I've yet to see anyone claim they're making a decent living off livestock/farming anymore. At least, not the little guys.
Personally, I'm picking animals...
This time of year, I'm bringing mine indoors except for a couple trips outside to visit mom during the day. They typically will hop right into the box right after you put it back in, IME. Once the eyes are open, I leave them out the entire day and I bring them in at night. Once they're a few...
How are they doing today? Fingers crossed!
My first time momma is doing excellent. I'm shocked, she's handling it like an old pro. I've been bringing the babies in at night since she seems dead set on eating all the hay in their nestbox and ignoring her overflowing manger, but other than...
Two pedigreed Florida White rabbit does for sale. Just turned 7 weeks old this past Saturday. Weaned and doing well. Drink from a water bottle, and are eating Pfau pellets and grass hay.
