I don't do anything. I believe they do well without human intervention. I have had no problems during winter, letting them find they own way and do their own thing. The more a human interferes with human issues, that's when problems arise. They have a coat to keep warm and get water in the am...
I was wondering if she has a quiet heat, why isn't she going to the bucks. Last year she was screaming and we took her immediately to a friends and she let the la mancha breed her 17 times. It almost seems she doesn't like the nigie bucks.
I didn't know whether the vulva can change throughout...
It's quite interesting. She is a cross breed not like my other registered nigerians. She allowed a breed Sept 1 twice. Last year she wouldn't breed with the nigerian bucks, but I took her to a friend and she readily bred with a la manch buck. She kidded last March with three kids, first...
Okay...this goat is going to be the death of me LOL I can NEVER tell this pooch and vulva with her. Here is some pics. She has kidded before. I would like your opinions if you think she is bred.....she was potentially bred sept 1 which would be 98 days today if she is pg. what do you think...
What is the time frame if any, when a buck starts showing interest in the doe before she goes into heat? The buck has already mounted once but I don't think she's in heat... They are doing their ritual and head rubbing together and such, but I don't know how long to keep them together separated...

I've tried them all, the last was washing machine hose, which fit over my wether's horns. But with their head butting, it all comes off. I've given up. I even ducked taped the washing machine hose, but even with their "play head butting" it comes off.
I've never had a problem to tie my wether. He never got hurt and he just steps over the dog chain. He has a dog collar as all mine do. I move him around where I want him to browse. I don't do this all the time but it is handy when he wants to bully and I can still keep him in the herd but he...
My male Nigerian was about a year old and he was old school castrated (just cut the whole thing off) on Sept 12. He isn't as "bucky" as he was, but never really smelled either. I only saw him pee in the mouth and lip up once. He does still mount my females. He is still pushy. He was fine...
