I have a 2nd time nannie that seems to be peeing alot, and has a wet hind end, she was due on the 23rd, she is not pushing, and the liquid is clear, she does not seem in distress, but she is hiding in the barn. She was sitting on her butt when I checked her last, I have noticed her peeing 3 or 4 times in a short time, and she exibits all the signs of being in labor, any advice? Do I need to worry? or is it just urine leaking since she is so heavy with kids? She is a rather aloof doe, and I am home alone so checking her easily isn't an option.

I would be checking her ASAP. I am guessing that the kid(s) are tangled up somehow.

We lost a baby because I didn't see how much fluid our doe had lost and thought she was earlier in her labor. Sounds like there could be trouble.

Its not a large amount of fluid, just a little bit, I have been checking her for the last 2 hrs, when she pees she doesnt pee alot, but she is very skittish and hard to catch.Shouldnt she be pushing? my prescence seems to really bother her so I have been leaving her alone hoping she will push, she did seem hunched over the last time I was outside. I will try to rope her and check her

Here if they have been in labor for an hour, someone is going in to pull the the tangled babies out. She probably isn't pushing because they are not lined up, are tangled up (i.e. 2 trying to come out at once), or her cervix isn't opened because there is not a baby pushing on it to open it(because they are tangled up). That is all IF she is in labor.

I got her restrained, I went in and checked her, she isnt dilated fully, I got 2 fingers in as far as I could, I did not feel anything,I checked both sides of her abdomen to see if I could feel kids or detect movement, I could not, the mucous on my ob glove was clear,is it possible she isnt ready yet, and I am being a nervous Nellie? her mother is notoriuos for carrying on for hrs before she kids, or have her kids expired and thats why I don't feel them, I have had goats for 4yrs and havent had anything like this before, also Carmen was bred late, the other nannies kidded in May.Could I be dealing with some sort of disease or bug ? It has been extremely wet here, and I know clostridia has been a big problem amongst sheep ranchers,

Hope it works out. Last time we had a similar scenario one kid was laying over the other and they had to be moved to allow her to kid.
