Adult, standard size goat, I figure 5 lbs each per day.
I was told 10 pounds per day?
For my four Kikos that would last me 10-15 days
Aren't Kiko's huge though?

My Kikos take about 3 days to eat an 80-100 pound bale. At 50 pounds I think they could eat it in a day, maybe just a little more than a day. So I think that much hay would last 10-15 days would be my guess.

I know my 4 goats go through a square bale of hay in 5-7 days. Depending on the weather. Bad weather they sit in the shelter and eat! I've got mini goats. When the buck we borrowed to breed the girls was here they were going through a bale in 5 days.

500# of hay, for five goats... I would say if each goat weighed 100 lbs, and they eat 3-4 lbs of hay each per day (based on a 3% body weight maintenance requirement), it would last 25-33 days...so about a month.

They will need more hay if they are bred or lactating. They will need less hay if they are getting grain.
