I'm finally going to do it. I'm finally going to become a member of the ADGA, just one thing...

On the form, for "Membership Name," should I put my name, or the farm's name? Is there a separate form to register your herd name like there is with the ARBA? Will the "Membership Name" affect who can and cannot show the goats if I do decide to attend shows?

The membership name is meant for your name, but it can be the herd name, I believe. The herd name is a separate form, yes. I don't think the membership name will affect who can show your goats-I don't show but people I know have others showing for them all the time, like if they have four animals in the same class.

My membership in my name and then a herd name.

Something else to think about...there is a form you can fill out to put other people's names on record so they can sign goat papers on your behalf. My friend did that when her kids went off to college and she was still raising their goats. I did it so if something happens to me my kids or DH can sell my goats with papers.

Thanks for the help! I was getting some conflicting advice, but now I think I know what to do.

Generally the name only needs to match for youth shows. Instead of having 4 youth memberships (and having to sorry about breeding memos and such between "herds") we have ours as Daughter'sfirstname Lastname and family. She owns most of the goats. If any of her younger brothers get super serious them we can address adding them in the future.
