Hi Everyone,

We have a 10 month old pygmy/fainter cross goat. We've been trying to figure out why his hooves are growing odd, and why he won't stand flat footed. We try to trim about once a month, but it doesn't seem to help. His mother has the same hoof issue, so we're sure its hereditary, but no one has been able to tell us what it is, and what we can do to help him.

I don't know if this shows it well enough, but he only stands on the very rear part of his hoof. Has anyone seen something like this before?

Thanks!

I agree that it looks like the hooves are too long, and trimmed in a curve.

And I second googling you tube videos on trimming goat hooves.

That is how we learned.

It was most helpful to watch MANY different videos each done by a different person.
