Brought home two Nigerian Dwarf does last week. They are about 10 weeks old. When should their hooves be trimmed the first time? The edges look like they are rolling over into the middle part which is white. Developing hooves and wait or trim? Total newbie here...

If the edges are rolling over like that, you should go ahead and trim.
When we sell kids, we usually give them their first hoof trim the day they leave so we can show the new owners how to do it.
We had a couple of 10 week olds that left last week. They weren't too bad but needed a little trim.

Yup, that's generally the way I do it too so long as I don't forget to show the new owners (which has happened]. :hide Oy.

Once the edges begin folding in, it is time. This will vary from one animal to another as far as how long it takes until a trim is needed. Some will need it monthly and others can go for 3 or 4 months without trouble.
