Aggie (and any others!!),

Thanks so much for answeringt he last questions about the potbelly. Have another which may or may not be realted to the belly issues...very very green poop! All green, was dark when we first brought him here. Just in the two rams in that pasture. However the mini donkeys are fine. Again, all of our pastures are so lush right now from the never ending rain! Could the two be related? Is green feces something to worry about?

Am I just being a huge worry wort??? I just love these darn sheep! So mad that we didn't think to get sheep before this!

Thanks again!!

Green feces is not a worry unless it is runny... if you still have nice, shiny raisinettes then you are likely seeing your rich grass being recycled.

If I were you I would provide some nice roughage in the form of stemmy hay or browse to help balance his diet. He will sample it along with the new grass and it may keep him from getting grass tetany or bloating. They really need it and crave roughage at this time of the year...my sheep would chew the bark off of sticks, eat old and moldy corn stalks, etc. to get that roughage.

Yep, sounds like it's green from all the lush grass. Mine get that way too, and one of my ewes always gets solid softer stools for a while until she gets used to the new grass.

Interesting question and answers.

We have been in horrible droughts down here in Texas for about 3 eyes.

I have never seen green poo from our sheep, but from what ya'll are saying, I long for it. :)
