I was wondering what the difference between alpacas an mini Llamas are? I know the physical differences but what about their uses? which are more friendly and is one a better wool producer then the other? does one do better off pasture then the other?

There are mini-llamas?! Please, stop telling me about all these diminutive versions of things. I don't need more species here. :p

Alpaca's are known for their very soft fleece. As far a personality it is like people some are easy and some can be a handful. I would read up on both breeds and visit a few breeding farms to gain some first hand information.

If you are looking for a lot of fleece, then you would want to go with alpacas. If you are looking for more personality, then probably llamas. But with either one, you have to work with them a lot to be on the friendlier side. I would say they do about the same off pasture but both like pasture best.

Like Mully said, read up on them and visit some llama and alpaca farms.
