Ridin' The Range
hay seems to be the hot topic around here!
I was just looking at Craigslist and someone is selling bales that are Rye, Vetch, Clover, possibly some fescue and sparse alfalfa for $9 bale for this years hay and $7 for last years.
Couple of questions.
(1) Is Rye ok? I can't find anything on my list of good vs bad for goats.
(2) My goats have been getting fed straight flakes of alfalfa. Is there a reason to stick with just alfalfa?
(3) We will be taking the girls to a breeder in August. Hopefully they will get pg. What is the best hay to feed during pregnancy? Would the above hay be appropriate?
Thank you guys so much for putting up with all my questions. I really do appreciate your feedback!
