Any advice on putting a 2 yr old PBP and a 5 month PBP together?

I have a 2 yr old PBP and just adopted a 5 month old PBP....

Is there any way I can savely house the 2 PBP together?

They are both girls.

I have a 20 by 10 pen and a seperate area for sleeping.

My PBPs live outdoors and have a 5ft by 5 ft run for grazing.

Any advice is appreciated.

How much size difference between them?

My first step would be to house them side by side separated by a cattle panel so they can check each other out for a week.

When you do introduce them to the same living space, expect a some skirmishes until they both agree on who is boss. When you do put them together, move the bigger one into the smaller one's turf, or to a neutral territory. Make sure you have adequate feed troughs that there is room for both at the same time. May need to feed them several feet apart at first.

I play all kinds of games when moving sows out of the farrowing pen back out to the pastures, mixing them up, rearranging their world so there are always a couple of new faces at a time and never 1 new one into an established group. They always have to sort themselves out into the proper hiearchy. (sp)
