My buck is useless, I'll start with that. So, this time, we bred our two does to a friend's buck. They were bred on Feb 6. Seems like they should have had babies by now if they were going to. But I was very convinced it took this time. They have been very territorial, stomping and actually growling (I didn't know rabbits growled) when any one or anything comes near their hutches, and they have that fluffy, obvious tuft of fur under their chins that I've been waiting somewhat impatiently for them to pull out. But so far...nothing. and they've grown a lot in the last month. Do I give up and assume this is another failed breeding, or maybe they're late?

How old are your does? They don't tend to be ready to breed until the dewlap appears so they may be either due late or they are acting out because they are ready to breed. Often, they don't pull fur until just before, during, or right after they kindle. I've only had one doe pull fur days before her due date. I miss her! lol
I would give them another 3 or 4 days, then see if you can bring them back to your friend's to try again.

Isn't this just day 32? I think they say to leave the box with them for at least 4 or 5 days past due date. It's a little early to be giving up on the breeding in February.
