Automatic waterers in sub-freezing temps?

Hello everyone. This is my first year with Little Giant trough water floats. I’ve loved them in this crazy Texas summer, but I’m wondering if I need to completely dismantle them, or if I can just shut the water off to them during a hard freeze (we didn’t used to have much in the way of hard freezes, but now…). I have the metal casings with plastic anti-siphon valve, if that makes a difference.

I have no idea. Call the manufacturer or distributor. Then come back and let us know! Do you have any pictures of your livestock using it?

I'm in North Central Texas and in winter have always left the tank floats in their tank and shut off the water. We have not seen any damage due to freezing.
