I've got this almost 3 year old wether. He can be a naughty pest...head swinging and pushing. I can deal with those things most of the time. But he also does this tongue lagging and front leg kicking thing at me that I really don't like. I'm not sure why he does it, or how to make him stop. I've tried smacking his nose and telling him "NO" and that doesn't seem to work. Any ideas why he does this... (I'm assuming it is another dominance kind of thing... but today he did it after smelling my fingers, which had apple cider vinegar on them) and suggestions on how to get him to stop?
Thank you!

so. ill
i would wonder if he was castrated properly. sounding like a proud cut horse, having the actions of a complete male animal without being able to reproduce.

He is in with another wether of the same age.

Currycomb....I was wondering about that too, if he wasn't castrated properly, they used the Emasculatome Method on him. He has always seemed more "aggressive" then our other wether.

Is the tongue and front leg thing something that Bucks do?

Because they're goats. :)

Ya know, it's funny.... I watched this thing on Animal Planet the other night called "Wild Russia," and they were filming some Ibexes -- wild mountain goats, basically -- in the Caucuses.

They caught them during the rut, and these goats are basically on cliffsides...we're talking, near verticle...and there's this buck running a doe absolutely ragged. He gets her stopped and what does he do?

Blubberpunch! You could see him punching at her, then rubbing his head around her head and neck, sticking his tongue out..

It's just something in their DNA, I guess.. It was just hilarious to see them exhibit the same weird mating behaviors as our domesticated goats!

Thanks for sharing about what you watched with the wild goats. I guess I should just be happy that he likes me enough to want to blubberpunch me. :)

Goats.........gotta love 'em. :love
