@Ridgetop i think you are right. The ram was born covered in yellow gunk, was floppy and took forever to stand. He had a rough birth. He may have delayed the ewe lamb being born. Big Girl lavished care on him until I wondered if he was the only one…….but she was huge! Finally toes, but no contractions. It’s like she gave up. Oh well. I have a ram lamb and saved the ewe. I’m gonna decide to be happy about that.
I had the exact same thing happen my first lambing season. Huge ram lamb delaying birth, tiny ewe lamb stuck behind. I'm sorry you lost the ewe lamb, that's always tough, but I'm glad mom and ram are doing ok!
