The reason I finally decided to have carpal tunnel surgery years ago was when I was installing shelves in my linen closet. I hit the nail and the hammer bounced back and hit me in the head because I couldn't control it with my bad wrist! I made the appointment that day with an icepack on my forehead. :gig

Bulldozer is here! I’m so excited! I snapped a “before” picture as I walked up the driveway.

I am SO GLAD FOR YOU, that this is getting done. I think that I suggested it when you first moved there and said it would be money well spent to get things "put together" quicker with getting the fence up... time that you can better spend doing other things... even if you had to take a part time job, like seasonal holiday, for a bit to pay for it... this is soooo much less wear and tear on you and will give you much faster results... sometimes it is truly the "work smarter, not harder" that gets the results. Just think how much sooner you can utilize your grass and save hay money... stretch out what you have and hopefully not get in a pinch for hay this winter...
I am really truly thrilled for you to see this much progress... and you worked hard enough to save money with salvaging as many t-posts that you did... :celebrate :celebrate:celebrate:celebrate:celebrate:celebrate:celebrate:celebrate:jumpy:jumpy:jumpy:jumpy:jumpy:yesss::yesss::yesss::yesss::yesss::bunny:bunny:bunny:bunny:weee:weee:weee

All done. I just can’t believe how awful it was and how beautiful it is to me now!

This tree is going to have to come down. It’s leaning towards the road and would crush my new fence, fall across the road, blocking it, and crush the fence across the road.

IMG_5431.jpeg

It has a rotten streak and I don’t know how deep it goes. Just don’t want it to be a problem later.

IMG_5433.jpeg

This tree will stay, it is far enough on the inside that it will be a very long time before it will grow into the fence.

IMG_5432.jpeg

Because of the lean on the other tree, bulldozer man didn’t want to tackle it. It’s right at the road, he’s not supposed to get in the road and he would have to be on that side. That would put him too low and just not a good scenario. I’ll call a tree guy with a bucket truck.

Then the short span across the field.

I wanted to keep the tree on the corner and a big oak tree near the dividing fence between me and my neighbors.

This tree has a survey spike driven in the back of it. Gotta keep it! It’s going to have a “V” around it to giv it plenty of room to grow.

It all looks so good! And less than a thousand bucks.

Call your local DOT .... around here they will take down trees that are within certain amount of feet from road to prevent them from falling into road... you might be able to get it done for nothing but don't know how long it would take... can't hurt to make a phone call... Sorry, my DS doesn't have any pull with TXDOT....

This is not a state road, it’s a county road. I already had the county commissioner look at it. It’s on my side of the fence, so it’s not a county problem until it falls on the road. So I need to take it down.
