After working so hard on pulling up green brair roots, and digging them out-I broke the shovel handle-the roots of all that brush, trees and brairs are so thick that I can’t even get a shovel in it. I reached the conclusion that I’d work myself half to death pounding even one T-post in. So I decided I’m going to hire getting the fence pt up. I went over to Bennett’s and Peggy’s and told them of my plan and they busted out laughing. It seems they had just made the same decision.
So yesterday a local highly recommended guy came over, we walked it and he threw a figure out there and I said yes. I’m going to raid my savings and get it done! I can do cross fencing later, I just need the outer parameter fence up. Any cross fence will be much easier because it’s open pasture with no mass of tree and brush roots to contend with. I can even use step in plastic posts and hot wire. I just need to utilize the grass! I’m really excited about this!
Sometimes the "work smarter not harder" means having someone get something done quicker at a price, for you to save more and be more efficient in the long run. I fully get it... Glad that you will be able to use the pastures that you kept looking at and "wanted to graze"....
Fence guy said I need 3 more rolls of wire. Called a TSC, none, but on sale for $296.99!!! WOW! In February 2022, @Ridgetop and I went to hardware store in Groveton, sheep and goat wire, OK Brand was $239, I bought 2 rolls. Bidenflation drove price up, I bought 10 rolls at $339, price went higher. Price went to $460 a roll! I’ve seen it coming down, but this is a bargain. I called another TSC, they had 4 rolls, I went and got them.
Took Carson, he had a great time going up to strangers to be petted. Cashier gave him a dog biscuit, man that worked there gave him one and I got one for the road.
Funny how people break into big smiles when Carson greets them. I’m quick to say, He’s friendly!
