I have 20 sold. And I’ll pack my DD’s freezer. They like the breast and thighs. So I’ll have 30 chickens worth of backs and drumsticks to can for the dogs. I like the wings, thighs and breast.
The 20 that are sold are to 2 different customers. One wants their chickens whole, and the livers. The other hasn’t specified whole or pieces, but wants the liver, gizzards, hearts and necks.

The livers, gizzards, hearts, necks, and wing tips from the 30, will be dog food.
Man oh man, Bay! I know you’ve done this before and you know what you are doing, but boy you sure are a glutton for punishment!
Well, you DO have 4 large dogs to feed! Maybe you need 20-30 more, about 30 days after first. 🤔🤫
:lol::lol:

Yeah, I’m a self proclaimed idiot.
I’ll miss my chicken pickin’ sweetheart. ☹️Together we killed, cleaned and packed on ice, 10 a day. Then I took the next day to cut them up and vacuum seal them. It’s hard work.

Today I went to a friend’s house in Lufkin and dug up 2 crepe myrtles out of her flower beds. One was about 5’ high, the other was over my head.

I needed a cow panel and half hog panels to make a fence around them, so I took down the hay bale cow panel and hog panel sides, in the front yard. I dug holes and planted the crepe myrtles. Then I watered them real good and built a fence to keep the sheep from eating them.

I’ll move Cooper and his 8 ewes across the driveway to Ringo’s old pen. Don’t know what I’ll do with Buford. Can’t put him with the ewes and lambs at night. He’s at that stupid play with lambs stage. I only let them out with Buford when I’m out there to supervise. Cooper will knock him into next week.

I’m thinking of building a platform that he could escape to and get out of Cooper’s way. I’ll draw something up, then build it.

Had to go get feed this morning, then unload it all and find places to put it. I got chick crumbles, so that’s taken care of. Got two 5 gallon water jugs for when I put them in the chicken tractors I haven’t built yet. Those have gone up to $45 each. The feed I buy went up 50 cents since last month. I got 20 bags of the regular pellets I buy. Then 4 bags of chick crumble, 4 bags of alfalfa pellets, 1 bag of BOSS and 1 bag of whole corn.

I got BOSS, alfalfa pellets, whole corn, and alfalfa hay for The Texas Five. I mix their feed, the formula is, the 14% all purpose pellets I feed my sheep. Then I add BOSS, whole corn and alfalfa pellets. They get 2 flakes of alfalfa hay, mixed with ample amounts of Bahia hay. They are well fed, spoiled girls!

The alfalfa hay is $35 per bale. I like to keep a bale for special treats. Cough, cough, The Texas Five is gonna have to come off their Beverly Hills menu and start liking the Bahia hay! LOL

I sent a picture to @Ridgetop and she sent back, The other sheep are giving the spoiled girls the stink eye!

So after I got all that done, I had lunch.

Then I started clearing fence row out front. I used the battery chain saw my son gave me. I love it!

I’ll take truck and trailer in there tomorrow to pile it on. I’ll have to cut trees on the county side of the fence and machete hack greenbriars.

It has begun.

Electric chainsaws are the best! I'm tackling my floodplain property lines right now.:weee

Dessa any closer to having her baby? :pop

She has a bag, but it’s not full and stretched tight. In the last couple of days she has grown fond of tummy rubs. That’s a good sign, she hasn’t wanted anything to do with me unless I had a treat. LOL I’m thinking mid to late March.

Bag and personality change ... Good signs usually.

I have a Boer doe that needs to kid or explode😱🤣. A dairy one similar but has another week. Boer doe had isolated in a stall this morn -- closed the door and she didn't move. Hope it's today!! She's next to her sister who had the twins of not same size/age last week. This kidding is one the seller and I anticipate, laughingly, as she has always had bucklings 😁 I want a doeling 👍 she's 6, so want those lines for the herd. Have a beautiful one from sister. Have a couple more years of breeding from them. 🤷 Surely twins in there, or more....?

Waiting on these and Dessa!!! Hope she twins ewelings for you! Build the reg herd from home! I know you want more.

My girls get BOSS and whole corn with their pellets too. I look out for them too.

I took my Ryobi chainsaw to Home Depot and let the experts match up a new chain for me. I bought a file too, again let the expert choose it. The file has a guide on it to match up the angle of the chain teeth. I feel smarter already!

Starving. Heated up some fried catfish and sautéed asparagus, mushrooms and red onion.
