Didn't it JUST get fixed for another problem??

Yup. Practically every thing but the radiator. Got a brand new one and it was damaged when Chris took it out of the box. He ordered another one, it should be in soon.

There are lots of short branch pieces that the tractor can’t push up in a pile.

Yesterday I picked up 7 bucket loads and dumped on the fire. There is still plenty more.

Bennett added some more to the burned down embers today.

I pushed it up for the night. Maybe tomorrow I can burn some more after church.

When we were doing our clearing when we first started I bought a Landscape Rake that I used with the tractor. It wasn't good for small pieces but it did good for pushing tons of wood for burning. You had to do all of the moving in reverse but I was able to literally clear tons of wood.

I just checked the price of what I have and it is literally double what we paid for it so at that price, I think I would use the bucket also.

These are what’s left of 6 large dead oak trees that I had taken down, weakened by Snowmeggdon in February 2021 and finished off by drought in summer of 2022. I’ve given away as much as I could, for firewood. It’s time to clean it all up, that means a burn pile.

Mount the saw on a bench vise clamped to the bar. Mark the first tooth you file (the Stihl has a green link, no marking necessary), do that one and the others you can reach then move the chain to get to the next set.

@Bruce You missed a couple of steps: 1st buy a bench then buy a vise to mount to it. We just got a 20ft storage container to use as a shop but it's not leveled yet.

@Bruce You missed a couple of steps: 1st buy a bench then buy a vise to mount to it. We just got a 20ft storage container to use as a shop but it's not leveled yet.

You can buy a stump vise, pound in into a good size stump or round you haven't split yet. Not as comfortable as standing at a workbench but good in a pinch or if you are out cutting in the woods and need to sharpen the chain.

A friend and I leveled and blocked two 40 footers, my son’s shipping containers. You need the big square 4” pads and solid concrete blocks. No cinder blocks. Those things get deathly hot inside. The little vents he had that are made for those things do nothing to ventilate or disperse the heat.
