I noticed this afternoon that my one year old mini mancha looks bloated. She doesn't usually have a belly at all and today she had a belly and it was definitely larger and higher on her left side. She does not seem to be in distress. She did not have any sudden diet change, she gets alfalfa only. My other lamancha doe also seems a little larger in the belly than usual, but not lopsided at all.
I don't usually offer baking soda but I did put some out, she was very disinterested.
I also massaged her belly (don't know if this is the right thing to do or not but figured it couldn't hurt) and she did burp twice.
I just don't know if I should be concerned. She's not huge, just bigger than she usually is and of course lopsided. I read in my goat book that you can give the goat a cup of oil. Should I wait to see if it gets worse. I wouldn't even know how to go about trying to get a cup of oil down her. Any recommendations appreciated.

Has she been out grazing? Could just be 'haybelly'....
If she's acting ok, I wouldn't give the oil (and risk the poops).

No, she hasn't been grazing at all. Is that what 'haybelly' means, too much green pasture?

I know it's been 12 hours, but how much higher is/was she on the left side? Like, noticeably higher or just a tiny bit so?

If it's just a little, that's fairly normal. If she's tight like a drum and the left side is considerably higher...I'd have drenched with a baking soda solution or maybe a cup of mineral oil.
