Um, what does it mean when there is blood on the bottom of the jar after a couple of days in the fridge? Like, the whole bottom of the jar has a thin layer.... not drinkable, correct?

She isnt mine, we got milk from someone, and I took the jar out last night for my kids' supper and when I tipped the jar to shake it up I noticed the blood all over the bottom of the jar. They just went from 2x milking to 1x per day....could that be it?

Yes, that might be the problem. I was told to not dry off a doe when we have the longest daylight hours. Wait until fall when daylight hours are shorter. Much higher chance of mastitis if you try to dry them off when they are milking well.

If there is blood, then there is a good chance that the goat has mastitis. I would take that milk back to the person you got it from.
