WOW! That is a HUGE achievement! Boone is so intelligent but more than that, he is tuned into you.

I. Am. SO PROUD of Boone!!! I dropped my med bag on the kitchen table. I have recently been working with Boone, teaching him to look for it, in the living room, in varying places on top of Fen’s big coffee table crate, among other things.
He came in the bedroom for a cookie. I gave him one, but he knew I still had one. I told him to look for my meds, just to see what he would do. He was sitting already. He looked at me, looked at the bed, top to bottom and back. Then he turned his head to look towards the kitchen.
I thought he had already forgotten/lost interest, then he quickly stood up and left, coming back moments later with my med bag, after having spotted it on the kitchen table AMONG THE GROCERIES!
This is HUGE! He not only grasped the idea it might not be in the same room we were, but also not in the same room it usually is, and was also able to identify it among different various items, and he did it all sitting in one place, scanning with his eyes!
One smart puppy!

He is so smart and funny at the same time.

Our friend made it last night, after dark. He has his 3 yr old GSP, “Koda” so he can chukar hunt. I couldn’t be more proud of the boys, Boone especially. As the ranch dogs run in packs out front, Koda couldn’t go out there to stretch or potty, and he had spent past several days in a crate while driving across the country. He was also a little fearful, moving around in their “room” back hunched, tail tucked. Afif didn’t want to shut him in the room alone until he was more relaxed and confident so I crated Fen and Boone with pupsicles so Koda could move freely. They started out like you would assume, barking at the intruder, but Boone especially, settled for me when I showed him Koda was under my protection. After about an hour or so, I put them out back to potty and Afif put Koda in Fen’s big crate. The boys quietly approached him, in turns. Boone offering to play, but new dog wanted none of it, feeling vulnerable in the crate with Sasquatch on the other side of the bars. Boone finally stretched out on the floor and Koda settled in.

This is absolutely not typical behavior for LGD breeds, sharing territory and especially not their “flock”. So again, I have to credit Boone’s unusually sweet disposition.

Boone is such a star. These two men cannot stop talking about him. They’ve both gone on the internet and researched his breed and are amazed at his disposition and his willingness to task for me. Quite frankly, I’m amazed at him myself. He is extremely social with both people and dogs and he’s beginning to show off the charts intelligence. I really got blessed when the breeder chose him for me
He’s currently grieving because everyone left to go do what they do and he’s stuck at home alone with me.
He’s been talking to me a lot more, and I hope I can eventually figure out what he’s trying to tell me.
Meanwhile he’s enjoying his raw meat in a pupsicle..

I’ve watched those talking boards on YouTube. Cats and dogs press buttons and make short phrases. There’s no doubt what they want and they don’t shut up. Better not get one for Boone!
