I have a bottle calf that was abandoned by his mother, I got him from a neighboring rancher, I dont know if he got colostrum or not, I have had him for a week now, today I noticed his one knee seemed swollen and he wasnt acting spunky like normal, I gave him a 7 way shot this morning, His neck seems real swollen where I gave the shot, his temp is 103.9, I gave him a biomyacin200 shots this evening, and also electrolytes and some asprin. he took the lectrolytes, also I noticed one of the calves has what I call pudding poop, I am thinking its him. I usually dont post to this forum, usually I have trouble with my goats, and I post on there, any ideas on what I should or shouldnt do??? A trip to the vet on a weekend isnt feasible, we only have two vets and they are very crabby on weekends.....

How old is this calf?

You post sounds like he is about a week old, but I want to make sure and not assume.

You should give him his milk at half strength until his poop is a little thicker, if he goes into a full blown scour please read this page:

Also, keep him on a good antibiotic, sounds like he may have some naval ill. Banamine will help with pain and inflammation. Continue electrolytes as long as there is fever or runny poop.

A knot at the 7 way injection site is common, and no real cause for concern. The swelling should go down within a few days. Do watch it for an abcess, since he is already in a weakened state.

I really urge you to get some probios or at least some plain yogurt to feed this guy......about 1/2 c yogurt into him bottle daily, or probois according to the directions on the pacakge.
