I've been told a Pygmy buck can reach a full sized doe with a little bit of help from the doe/a hill. However, if I was going to try, I would look for a pet quality Pygmy buck, one with long legs, and a not so stocky build. The short legged show bucks can not reach in most cases.

The generations are very important, you are trying to lock in the "Kinder type" and that usually doesn't happen for 3-4 generations.
