Hello, just wondering if it’s possible to breed for disease resistance against CAE and Johns Disease?
Would that involve only breeding animals that test negative if if a herd has some infections.
Also I was reading that you should only breed goats with a high amount of antibodies. Would a vet be able to test for that?
I had at one point read an article that stated that some goats have genes resistant to Scrapie. And that you can breed for resistance against. Which why I’m now asking if it’s possible for the other diseases.
What are your thoughts on this?
