I have a doe that had babies and I was wondering what breed they were. I think the doe might be an American Spot Hotot mix or a Rex.I don't think she is a rex because all of her spotted babies have butterflies that Hotots have. She has kits with colors ranging from silver to brown to black to spotted. Some oof the spotted are different colors (not black) some are grey and some are brown. I have no clue what the buck is. And I'm keeping one of the babies, all of the rabbits I've picked out before turn out to be not so friendly. Any tips on choosing a rabbit? Here are some pics

There is also another black baby from a different doe.
Please reply.

Well, your doe is clearly not either a Mini Rex nor a standard Rex because she doesn't have the Rex coat. The broken pattern that she displays is just that, a broken pattern; there are many breeds that can come in broken, so that isn't a good clue, either. Hotots don't have butterfly markings, by the way.

As to how to pick a friendly bunny, my best advice is to handle them a lot when they are young. Then, when you open the cage door, see who comes to you. The bunny that wants to interact with you on its own is more likely to stay that way, it's harder to get one to "come around" that prefers to hide in the back corner.
