Next Sunday I will be picking up a bred Jersey milk cow.

Lost my other one this spring. She had a ruptured bowel and had to put her down.
She was such a sweet heart. When I milked her she would start licking me at my belt loops and end licking the back of my head. Ever try to hand milk a cow while it is licking the back of your head?

This new one is bred to a Jersey bull. Hoping she has a heifer calf.

Good luck with your new Jersey. In all the cows and heifers that I've bred over the years, I've never bred a Jersey. Wonder if they are much different than an Angus or other beef breed.
