Greetings from Maine!
Ive been reading here for about a month now and finnally decided to stick my nose in the conversation.
Im a loggers son who married a girl from a dairy family, so neither of us is scared of work or animals. we are expecting our first child, a girl, in april. we currently own 4 acres ,mostly wooded, in western maine. eventually we want to move to another peice of land thats much larger.
We currently have 1 house cat, 11 laying hens, and 2 pigs bound for the freezer. future plans include expanding the pig pen, a flock of meat chickens, and some ducks for eggs and meat.
Ive loved reading in the pig section about other peoples problems and solutions. hopefully i dont have to learn everything the hard way!
Thanks for a great site!
