So......how long, in reality, do you stop drinking the milk after injecting dewormer and cd&t vaccine? I'm not talking about selling milk and legal implications, I am talking about drinking the milk yourself.

I know what the labelling instructions are....I want to know who observes it to the letter and who ignores it! ;)

Well here we dont stop drinking it as there isnt enough wormer in the milk to hurt you. In some countries they worm people with these types of wormers. Its not hurt any of us and my grandsons cant tell either when they are here and when they lived here it dodnt do anything to them or us either. The only time I dont drink it is if the doe is on antibiotics and then I wait for a week. I just give it to the dogs or chickens.

I tend to freeze milk for the 4 days following an Ivermec dosage as bottle milk. Other dewormers, I go by bottle withholding. Vaccinations do not affect milk. Antibiotics, I go by label withholding advice.

Oh, yeah, I would not drink milk with antibiotics in it. I did use ivermectin.....so four days, not too bad, I will freeze that for soap and the milk for my doeling.

I'm curious, Helmstead, why do you do four days for ivermectin and follow the label (if I am understanding you correctly) for other wormers?

BTW, I was planning on drinking the milk sooner than the labelling suggested, just couldn't decide on how soon. Thanks for the support!

Ivermec is commonly used in humans...so I don't worry about it as much as drugs not classified for human use.
