Overrun with beasties
I had a Red Wattle gilt and had a lot of trouble trying to locate a Red Wattle boar. Before I went to the expense of putting a number of miles on the truck to bring home one that I found, I decided to expose her to my Chester White 'clean-up' boar that I had just to see if she was an easy breeder. I have since sold the boar and the other day my gilt (now a sow) had ten of the best looking babies you ever did see! Has anyone else tried this cross? I am really liking their appearance and they are as sound as a bell. I am figuring that they should make good mommas due to the Red Wattle and Chester White traits. These are two breeds that don't get enough press but I have been very happy with both and they make a heck of a cross.
I uploaded a pic of most of the babies in line and one of a few and their momma's butt. She wouldn't get out of the way so she got in the picture too.
