@Blue Sky how is Gabby this morning? I hope you both are doing well.
How old are your ewes when you retire them? I still have one of my original ewes, she is 9 years old, with 2 week old twins. She has a forever home, just wondering at what age she quits.

Gabby is less noisy and less hungry but still had a good nurse. She’s getting out of her “where’s mom” stage. My ewes live to about eleven. I’ve had four who quit cycling, all related. They stopped around nine-ish. I think this is the exception and not the rule. We go through periods of no mature rams in the flock, they’re sold or eaten, I think that may influence them. I’m trying to convince Hubbs to get a black belly ram. I believe we are accidentally getting back into our own bloodlines with the spotted. Not many people have them. Plus I like the mix. I have a ram I like that is brown and black and white in mostly equal parts. Black bellies bring extra parasite resistance to the party too.

For my BA it wasn't too bad-just a typed post that others could respond to. For the MA-it's a VIDEO I have to record. Why am I not happy? Well, that means that I must be showered and dressed in actual clothes

Well --- I don't know what your subject matter is (though it shouldn't matter) -- but why not do the video out in the barn, or the field with critters?? I'm guessing that not all the students / viewers are in country settings. Could get you some brownie points!!

Been out for a few hours grazing and getting barn chores done already. DH has a helper today and they are going great guns moving stuff to the "storage area" --- palettes, T-posts, roof tiles, etc. Looking good and now they're doing work on the ranch road - "regrading" or releveling --- whatever. DH is looking very happy out there working. - 5 months since retiring and looking more and more like he's settling into the ranch life .
Half a cup left and then back out for me. Think I'll take Zo - 1 yr old pup to just hang out while I get things done.

That's a good idea-I only have chicken coops right now, but one look at Edith the Polish-everyone will fall in love with her!

Gosh I'm so loving coffee this morning -- and a good night's sleep! Worked a 10 hr reset yesterday and it was mentally tiring. Off until next Monday now. Taking a friend to doctor appt this morn, her vehicle broke down. Better get chores done!

Did one of those wake up at 1:30 AM, laid awake a few hours, woke up at 7. Made coffee, suited up and trudged out in the rain. Chores done. Reina got her eye drop. Now coffee and watch it rain-for 55 minutes. Then back out in the rain for an eye drop appointment.

Gabby started to scour yesterday. Doesn’t want a bottle. I’ve got some scour meds and a booster tonic. Also home made electrolyte and plain yogurt. Old ewe very pregnant off her feet got tonic and is up. No pregnancy toxemia I hope. Another ewe just had a big lamb. Cold rain all day. Getting ready for the next (fill in the blank). Better than a day at the office though.

I used to call resets “pogatory”. Like purgatory it wasn’t exactly hell but you wanted to be somewhere else. There is a special circle in hell where the damned have to line up metal shelves and attach them to uprights that are just a little bit off.

OMG...Prices. this was a cosmetic wall...$9 for an eye liner pencil??? Really. $15 for a couple ounces of foundation. Ok, mascara is $10-20 per.

It’s pouring rain here. Wind blowing a gale. Sheep and dogs are in their shelters and not coming out! Puddles everywhere.
