The kids, ages 25 to 15, got the Christmas tree by themselves this year... I was too sick, and spouse has a messed up foot...

The kids also decorated the tree... bare bones, but lovely (candycanes, mushrooms, lights, and a few ornaments, a tiny angel from my childhood for the top).

It has been great! We didn't put it up until the Saturday right before Christmas, since all kids weren't home until then!
Anyway... so, it will stay at least until we are back to only 2 kids. I think that is the 5th of January.

We have been doing wedding planning with the bride-to-be.

Just amazing my #2 son found this woman! I started talking to her about money... I was worried my son hadn't been clear about how strapped he is while he is still in school.....

She has enough money set aside, it will last until he is done with grad school.... he will not have to worry, and will be able to keep focused on his studies.

I was so worried about them being able to afford an apartment! But, she can cover it!

:th

So grateful!

@Alaskan what line of study/degree is son #2 pursuing? Which one is in seminary?

This is last weekend of 2023!! 😁 How convenient the first day of 2024 is a Monday -- start a new week and a new year. My celebration is here 🎉🎉👍 done! That's it. Early but --

Hoping for a garden welcoming Spring.🥰

Ground still soft here. The rain couple days ago, predicted 1/2" but, Mother Nature left an extra 1" 😳 there is sunshine today 👍 but cooler upper 40s. Just to remind us that it's winter, 28-30 tonight 🫤. Yeah, our coldest 2 months of winter is beginning. Carhartt & lined jeans are my best friends 🤣. Time to get serious with watching udder fill on all the does. No controlled breeding this year -- bad girl me! 🤷😖

Time for chores. Starting late. But coffee is hot! 😌

It has been gorgeous weather this week for my granddaughter’s visit. Cold in low 30’s at night, high 50’s in day, but glorious SUNSHINE! Everything is white with frost, water buckets have a frozen layer of ice, but it’s been so nice.

Today we stay home. I’m going to put the ewes and lambs in the new field for the day. Being gone past 2 days, I kept them penned. The ewes will enjoy their freedom and the lambs are bouncing like rubber balls, they can run and play.

Yall have a great day!

Kid 2 is going for occupational therapy. He is 22, but has 1 more year of college, and then masters. He has been moving slowly through school because he is working at the same time, zero debt.

Kid 1 is in the one in seminary.

Kid 3 is 20, but only has 1 year of college... he took just 1 class last semester... he got a full time plus overtime job this past summer.

Morning all! I'm here and made it through this crazy hectic non stop on the go week. We're having a small get together tonight with a couple friends. Yesterday to celebrate FH 57th B-day we went to see WONKA and Y'all take your young kids or grandkids to it. It was great!!!!!

@Alaskan you have responsible and loving boys there! Good job.

I've been home exploring all that is internet shopping 🥴😱. OMG -- what can you NOT get, without stepping out the front door?!? Delivered to your door. Just what is the world coming to? Shopped tractor attachments, fencing & trucks. So far my bank account is still in tact. BUT I'm home all week, plus all but one day next week.😖. Home alone, time on my hands, things I think I want & some I need. Ooooh!! Too much time on my hands! 🤣

Need to go to WM later and spend the OTC $$ on my med plan. It's use it or lose it day for this yr allowance. I pay a premium every month. No Dr visits. So vision, dental and aspirin or band aids for everyone I know is my only return. Sooo I'll do that today. 🤷 Pretty certain I'll be going to Agri supply first of week to get a pretty red tiller for my pretty red tractor 🤣👍. Looked at fence prices there BUT they have field fence, don't carry goat type. No climb even more $$ than goat...so on hold for a day or two. Lotta trucks are haunting me -- NO, not new. That means I've a list of dealers that I "might" visit for test drives. One truck has all, maybe more, than I'd like and the turn off is color -- white! 🫤🙄. But never wrecked, exc condition, one owner, I'm really tempted there. Older, good trucks are hard to find.

Speaking of trucks -- prices are sinful for the newer ones!! I'll never buy one. Don't want all the electronics and not paying for it. Can't believe $50-100k, no way.

Did you ever get your truck back on the road @Mini Horses ?? I know DS was supposed to finish fixing it with parts you got.....
NO and NOPE and OMG NOOOOO... on a new truck. $85 to $100 grand for a new 4x4 250 or 350 truck... NOT happening... besides, like you said, all the electronic crap.... that is why I just got the 99 from my father's estate checked out, new hood latch, all fluids etc done and new air filter, inspected... and will put tags and ins on it in January.... thankfully does not have the stupid "screen" in the center with telling you all this info and the backup camera... do not want that either... ever... I'm too old fashioned...learned to use mirrors and learned to judge distances...
My explorer is at the ford dealership to figure out the problem with the "communication" with the backup screen and all that in the stupid thing... finally.... then get it sold........
