Woke up to a dusting of snow. Slightly windy outside, but that's also Wyoming. Kinda gloomy out, wouldn't be surprised if we were going to get more snow. Guess I'll relax with some coffee and enjoy this weather.
Pulled apart my heater yesterday after it broke, and couldn't figure out what was wrong, had my roommate text the landlord, and they came by at some point while I was gone last night. Not sure what was wrong, but just glad it got fixed.

Same here for the pleasure, bug eating and food value. Pretty easy to care for...control predators. No ducks since old farm & pond. Not adding either now!

Yep!!! That's what starts many of us into ventures.

Sun up...weather liars suggesting 4 days of 60s. I'm home. Need to force this old body into fence mode. Does are bagging and bachelor pad needs to be completed. It's really just replacing old fence but, a job. Tear down, put up. . At least this isn't in an area with vine growth, etc!! Shelter all good, a long & a short side all ok. A 170' & a 60' to do. But it's wood, 4 slat to remove. . Was sure pretty when new! Ok for horses, not goats.

Good- it's warmer.

Bad- warmer, sunshine, a little salt from somewhere=melted snow then tomorrows ice/slick streets.

Just starting a little light out...need to finish this cuppa and go feed. A day of farm work awaits. Yesterday I worked to straighten up a washboard road to back of farm. Dig from a pile of old dirt, load, dump, grade, top with gravel. Today...more of that?...and back to fence replacements. Tomorrow fence, sunday rain!

Old dirt pile has to be loosened with backhoe to get into FEL. SO want to do before switching implements, plus get fill done before rains. Really wanted to get fence done first -- but..... Hmmm. It's slow work with the digging first.

But the fence is calling to me!! Tear down in progress. It's wood slat. Let me tell you, I sure nailed it good!! Buck butted through the old boards. Busted but, both ends held. Posts good. Need to save/use posts.

I’m leaving this morning for Corpus Christi. I am excited to go see DD and family. I’ll feed and take care of baby chicks before I go.

That didn't go so well, guess it got too warm, made the incubator and noticed the eggs cracking this morning, ended up getting it too hot overnight. Now we got fried ducky nuggets! Hmm wonder if they are like boiled eggs.

Rain again - but forecast (if I believe it - and I truly do want to) is no rain until a week from Sunday - but I've seen that before
8 OMG 8 or maybe 9 years ago when we were looking at land we almost bought up in WA state. Sooooo close to doing it. SERIOUSLY close - then found out about the animal regs in that county - I ~think it was a total of 6 animals cats, dogs, etc no matter the amount of acreage you had! Had friends on over 100 ac that said they actually come out and COUNT - livestock didn't count (though maybe chickens did). Well, that did it for us, no offer in on the land and skedaddled out of there. Where am I going with this....... well the last God only knows how many days of rain and spit and gloom we've just had [4.25-4.5 inches] , there is no way I could've handled the PNW rain and clouds and gloom. You guys who do - are amazing. ME - give me my sunshine.
Got a lot of "clean up / dirt road repair / arena reclamation" ahead but need things to firm up before I put equipment on it.
