CONTEST: Greatest Meat Recipe ~ Winner Announced

[color=2C91A5]Backyard Herds "Greatest Meat" Recipe Contest:[/color]

We are looking for your greatest meat recipes to build our Recipe index here at BYH!

Contest Information:

Recipes should feature a meat that is or could be produced within your herd. Open to all types of livestock meat (except chicken).

Entrants will create a recipe in the Recipes forum of Backyard Herds and then link their recipe here for submission.

Recipe titles should be formatted as follows: Meat Type Recipe Name
Example: Leg of Lamb Braised Leg of Lamb [or] Goat Meat Burgers

Recipe should include:
The name of the dish
How much time it will take to prepare the dish
Required ingredients with their quantities / proportions
Equipment and environment needed to prepare the dish
An ordered list of preparation steps
The number of servings that the recipe will provide (approximate is fine)
A picture of the prepared dish

Copy write Notice: The recipes need to be your own - which means you can't just copy from another website, cookbook, magazine, etc.

Submissions will be accepted until December 31, 2011

After the submission deadline is over the top 2 dishes will be made by the judges and evaluated. A top recipe will be named at that time.

Prize for this contest is a 2012 Calendar.
Shipping will be free within the continental US.

How to Enter:[/color]
1) Create a great meat recipe using a livestock meat (other than chicken)
2) Make sure your recipe is formatted to include all of the "points" listed above
3) Make sure you take a picture of the finished dish
4) Start a thread in the Recipe forum and title it using this format: Meat Type Recipe Name
5) Copy the link to your recipe to a reply of this post

Information on Judging:[/color]
Initial judging to choose top 2 dishes will be based on the following:
Creativity
Ease of Reading
All Contest Criteria being met
How delicious the photo looks
The top 2 contestants will be announced on this thread
In the final phase of judging:
Each judges will obtain all the necessary ingredients to make both dishes
Judges will make the dishes following the recipe exactly and judge on:
Ease of recipe to follow
Taste / texture
Winner will be notified via PM and then announced here

Just a reminder to those planning Thanksgiving Dinner - if you put your own spin on the meat dish then it's your recipe - don't forget to enter the contest!

Remember this contest while you're planning your Thanksgiving menu.

A note on what an original recipe means - if you have changed a recipe by 40% then you may submit it into this contest. That means 4 out of 10 ingredients or steps have been changed to suit your taste. Most recipes are based on certain "rules" and therefore many are similar to each other but yet different. If you have a question about recipe originality or copyright issues please PM me.
