Copper supplement to Nigerian goats?

I live in northern NM. I have never given copper or wormed. Goats are healthy. Others in NM do give copper and worm. Any thoughts, especially on the copper? Should I be giving extra? How would I know?

Copper issues can come from being in a copper deficient area and/or not having enough in their diet or not enough free choice minerals. Parasite loads have alot to do with the individual goats genetics and also management style.

What do you feed and what is your management style?

As far as parasites do you regularly check eyes? or have you had a fecal done? Parasites are tricky.... goats looks fine then crash.

Sounds like maybe you may just have some better management practices!
