My pygmies have been coughing or maybe choking...It sounds horrible. They seem to be in excellent shape otherwise. What is this, is it something to worry about?

Do you have dusty hay? What types of forage have they been eating? Anything poisonous? Do they have temperatures? Have they been scarfing down their feed too quickly?

I would have her checked for lung worms and go from there.

You should check the kids temperature to make sure there isn't an infection somewhere. Also, make sure the remaining kid(s) are eating and drinking. If they aren't you'll need to make sure they aren't getting dehydrated and give them some type of electrolyte or karo syrup/molasses mixed in water and drench them.

Check out this link and read up on colds, pneumonia and lung worms.

I would have them checked out by the vet. It is hard to diagnose problems over the internet. We can give you suggestions but since we aren't physically looking at your animal, it is truly hard to pinpoint what is wrong.

I'm glad to hear you are taking him to the vet. Good luck with your goat and I sure hope he will be ok. :)

I have read that moldy hay, can cause coughing, and it is something that is you want to clear up as soon as possible because it can do lung damage.

Ok I carried the Goat to the Vet he did have some parasits but not lung worms he got 3 shots and 3 days of wormer and is doing great. I found molded food on the ground will that make them sick? The Vet has no idea what might have killed my other little goat.
