hi everyone. My almost 3 mo old doeling Lila has had a horrible phlegmy cough lately. She is still on a bottle and in the process of weaning. I give her "Immune ST" from Molly's Herbals in her milk. It's probably been like a week now and it's not really bad, just every once in a while she hacks and sometimes sneezes. Anything I should do? Her behavior and eating is normal and she doesn't have a snotty nose.
Thanks :)

It could be so many things from don't worry to get her to the vet now. It could be a persistent lung infection of some sort or it could be mycoplasma. Mycoplasma is a bacteria with no wall. It is harder to get rid of. Only Draxxin seems to work on it. If she has pneumonia or some sort of lung infection, she may need regular antibiotics. If it persists for too long, it could damage the lungs. Then again, she may just have some allergies. It would probably be good if a vet or a local knowledgeable goat person looked at her in person. It sounds like her lungs need to be listened to by someone who knows what to listen for.

if you haven't already; treat her for coccidiosis...the added stress of weaning may have pushed her over the edge and let the exsisting coccidi take over...Di meth, corrid, or the drug of your choice should take care of the problem...No temperature= No infection.....jmo

thanks for the replies ever1, I took her to the vet. He said there was no fluid in her lungs and said it could be upper air way something or other. So long and short of it is he showed us how to give her shots. So we now need to give her antibiotics every day. So hopefully she should get better!
