Daisy is doing well but my son is just devastated that her buckling didn't make it (okay, I am crushed but can't let him know it so at least I can share it here-I feel awful and keep playing the what-if game). He had both legs back and her contractions were somewhat weak and irregular. I tried, my husband tried, and the vet tried and though we finally we able to get his shoulder forward so she could deliver, he was gone. Gotta go console my son :hit

Maybe tomorrow, I'll spend some time trying to locate a few local breeders, see if we can't at least get a playmate for our doeling-she needs a buddy and my son could use the band-aid.

Melissa that's so sad to hear, I can only imagine how heartbroken you must be feeling. That is the one part about having a farm that I will never ever get used to. For the most part its a wonderful life, but now and then you find yourself presented with really hard and sad situations. My heart goes out to you and your family! Sending you lots and lots of big hugs! :hugs :hugs :hugs

I am so sorry. It is unfortunate that these things happen and there is nothing you can do about it. Even doing all the right things, it happens. This is one that is out of our hands.
