I acquired two pygmy goats about three weeks ago, that are about 3-4 months old. We were told by the folks we got them from that they had been dewormed, but after further questioning I began to wonder if this was true (they had no idea when, or with what, so I'm thinking they just "said" they dewormed to make me happy!) Anyway, I gave them their first dose of dewormer this morning. At their age, when should I deworm again?

Worms are indeed a threat to goats. There are many different types of worms that affect goats.

The safest thing to do would be to take a fecal sample down to a vet and have a fecal test done. Then you will know which wormer to use. Goats can have different worms, according to where you live.

Also, go online to Fiasco Farms website. The lady who has that site is very knowledgeable about goats and has lots of info on there for free!!

Like Donnabelle said, I would have a fecal tested at the vet. Then worm appropriately. There are different dewormers for different parasites and you have to use the correct one.
