It sounds like you are covering your bases.A 9 week old buckling had terrible scours this morning. Liquid all over his bum and it kept coming out.
I quickly gave him pepto bismal and 2 ml of toltrazuril 5% Baycox. He started to act better after a while and foraged a bit, but did not eat his grain. I have been giving him Gatorade and Bounce Back electrolytes since this morning, all of which he drank from a bottle. I also gave him Electrolyte paste.
No bowel movements since that mornings liquid diarrhea episode.
3 hours ago, he began to act off. He then had a dog poo tube with some liquid feces. This was followed by some more liquid feces, along with one peppercorn feces in the liquid poo. I have him some more electrolyte paste, 1ml of pepto bismal, and a bit of goat milk replacer mixed in with some Gatorade and goat electrolytes.
I researched the coccidia toltrazuril dosage and realized it is 1ml per lb. My goat is 10lb. I already gave him 2ml in the AM and gave him 1.5ml more to complete his dosage.
What else can I do?
How long will it be until the diarrhea stops?
Do I need to give him 3 days of toltrazuril treatments?
Am I doing everything I can?
Please helpppppo!!!
Not sure on re-dosing etc.I really hope I am doing all I can!
I don’t have B paste but I have Kid Paste
How long does it take for diarrhea to go away? Should I continue to give pepto bismal?
He ate some grain this morning and milk, and has had really little diarrhea. More like 3 drips than full on diarrhea
He has been foraging and took 6oz of milk replacer
Do I need redose with toltrazuril for a few days? He got 3.5ml (he is 10lb) yesterday.
