I've been feeding Noble Goat medicated which contains decoquinate .0015% to my kid goats, I have also used Goat power with the same ingrets, Now for the question, Alot of people are feeding Kent 16% medicated with Rumensin in the feed, what is the difference, Their kids seem to be bigger at same age as mine, Same way of feeding but with different feeds. also an article said not to feed monensin to goats cause it could become fatal. So can some-one straigten me out about the difference in all this, I have been useing the medicated feed 15% for years, would the kent be a better way?

From what I've read, rumensin not only works 'better' at preventing coccidia outbreaks, it also helps the kids utilize the feed better, meaning they gain more.
Deccox has pretty much stopped working around here - again, from various things I've read. I can't provide links or anything, just random posts I've seen on FB and here and other places.

I wish we could get Kent feeds here...I'd like to try rumensin.

I still do the DiMethox until they're 8-9 mos. old, even though I feed the medicated feed.

I also feed A LOT to the kids. 5 kids (almost yearlings) are getting about 3 qts. of feed, 2x a day, of the Noble Goat. Ours grow pretty well, most of our Feb. kids were big enough to breed in Oct (80-90#).

Have you checked them for tapeworms? I had one Ob kid that just wouldn't grow well and that turned out to be her issue.

yeah,I cleaned them up from tapes, I have kent avable to me, And I also use the de-methox but it seems things have quit working like the panacure, I've also read alot about baycox to use instead of the de-methox and wonder if any-one used that, it seems to be doing a good job for people, I think I will get the kent and see what happens, my girls are shorter then what they should be, look healthy and high-spirited just shorter.

Deccox is a coccidiostat. It prevents the growthof coccidia but does not kill it.
Rumensin is a coccidiocide. It kills coccidia. Rumensin also stimulates the growth of goats (and calves) . It is safe for use in goats but will kill equine. (horses, donkeys, etc) Rumensin has not been approved for use in goats producing milk for human consumption.
