So as a fair newbie myself I often wonder what does X look like and how will I recognize it.

I want to start a gallery site of goat ailments with photos/video. I just think it might help people identify what is going on while playing Dr Detective as we so often have to.

In my own net cruising I haven't seen a great site w lots of photos. A couple breeder sites have pics of stuff that happened to their goats but it isn't a comprehensive list.

Thoughts, suggestions, naysayers? Does one already exist and I have completely missed it?

I like the info on that site but the other day I spent a good 4 hours looking for comparative photos of goats with and without CAE. This started because of seeing a goat at another farm with what looked like swollen knees.

Believe me. I understand this is no small project.

The problem is that not EVERY swollen knee is CAE (I have 2..no 3 CAE positive goats....not a swollen knee in the bunch) and not EVERY lump is CL....I have 3 CL pos goats and not a lump on them at the moment....

Diagnosing by pics alone is not a good idea.

I'm also a newbie, and while I agree that one shouldn't depend on pictures to diagnose major diseases, it could be very helpful to have pictures to help with the initial detective phase. Especially when, like me, you are paranoid about every little thing. If I had a number of pictures of copper deficiencies, for example, I might not have to ask quite so many questions. Now, to go ask another question . . .
