I bought a nigerian dwarf doe who was supposed to be pregnant. Her name is star and when I got her she had teats that were noticeable. She's due now and she doesn't seem to show any signs. Should I assume she not pregnant?

Huh... doesn't really look it...but goats always surprise me.

The only way I know for sure is to feel for the ligaments on either side of the tail head. Between the base of the tail and the hip bones. If they are hard like pencils then she isn't giving birth soon. (So it isn't a sign of pregnancy, but is a sign of impending kidding).

They soften up the last week-ish. It feels like they are completely gone 12 hours or less before kidding.

So... I would use an online giat due date calculator... calculate the latest she could possibly have a kid... pencil in that date on the calendar.

Keep feeling her ligaments until 2 weeks post due date... if at that point they are still hard like pencils... she is not pregnant.

Sorry, nothing better than that, unless you want to shell out money for a pregnancy test or a vet visit for an ultrasound.

Oh... some goats are obvious with heat... if she has had clear heats, then she isn't pregnant.

Not all goats are obvious....

When did you buy the doe? How long pregnant was she supposed to be??? If she was with a buck up until the day you bought her, she could have been one day "pregnant" when you got her. It sounds like the sellers gave you a breeding date so you had a "due date".... but unless she was guaranteed pregnant, then it's an "iffy".
I am not a goat person like many on here. BUT, she does not look pregnant from the pictures. Most of the goats that are on here that are pregnant with just one or 2 kids look like they have a football in them sideways.... especially small goats like nigerian dwarfs.
So, she could kid up to 5 months from when you bought her if she was with a billy .....
If you have a male, I think the best thing would be to see if you can do some teasing and see if she comes into heat.....
or get a vet to do an ultrasound or do a blood test .
