I have 3 Pygmy/Nygerian Xs, two does and a whether. The 5 year old doe has gone totally psycho. She spits and hates at everything, is biting and fighting with both other goats, the chickens and anyone who goes into the pen. I have seen this behavior off and on for the last 2 years or so, but it would only last a couple of days, and I figured she was just in heat. She used to be on the bottom of the herd, now she is just the psychotic outsider, the other two goats avoid her.
She was rejected by her mother the moment she was born and I bottle fed her from day one. She also used to be the most sweet tempered. Now I have have to take a crop in to the pen with me to keep her from attacking my legs. Of course, they all have horns. I separated her yesterday from the others and she tore the dividing gate off to get back to them.
Any ideas? Can you spay a goat? I am seriously wondering is she has a brain tumor or something. My other doe has her pissy time, but this is amazing.

First off, Welcome to BYH @Helen Pembrook !

Personally I'd send her off to slaughter unless you're really attached to her.

If you want to try to work with her, you'll need to try various training techniques. You should also have a mineral panel (bloodwork) done on her. Certain mineral deficiencies and toxicities can cause an animal to "go insane".

I would be sending her off to market or the butcher to...That's not a healthy environment for the doe, the other animals, or you. But that's just how I see it.
If you really want to try and make her work and keep her, I would really suggest following elevens advice about getting the blood work done.
I would also be concerned about a brain tumor or some kind of parasite, as I know raccoon parasites can migrate up into the brain in humans, perhaps it could be the same for goats?
Either way, a vet would be your best course of action.

I still agree, go to the vet first, she may have some parasite or tumor in her brain. If not, she just went crazy, she may have to be a freezer goat.
