This morning I noticed one of my does (Nubian) sneezing, repeatedly and licking her nose. She seemed to stop after eating and hasn't done it since, she did feel warm to me and I was going to take her temp but one of the other goats stepped on the thermometer and busted the thing *of course* :somad so I need to buy another one and take her temp still.

But a few other goats seemed to be breathing a little hard. The humidity is insane today, its unbearable, I can hardly get a breath myself and the days are like 80 degrees plus and the nights are in the 50 degree area, big difference plus the humidity is not good I'm sure.

So did the temp difference or humidity cause her to get sick? Is the humidity just causing symptoms I didn't see to show up now?

Do I have the vet treat just her? or treat her aggressively and the others mildly? or is it okay to wait a day and see if she comes around or do I jump on this thing now?

Troubles troubles.... :barnie

I did put electrolytes and probiotics in everyone water this morning and the goats that looked like they were breathing a little hard got jump start, the sneezing doe got power punch.

What would you guys do I'd rather not have the vet come out if possible I'm a little tight on cash at the moment but I'll do what I need to, I don't want this to get out of control either.

I also wormed them a few days ago and she looked kind of wormy to me, so maybe I left her open to catching something after dumping her worm load? :(

I would get a cheap digittal thermometer and take her temperature. If she has a fever or symptoms continue, I would give her a shot of Pen G. (Just my thoughts). Also, what kind of wormer did you use? Could she be reacting to nose bots?

x2

Definitely get a temp on her.

If you've got air quality issues and it sounds like you do that could be causing her problems, but get a temp to be safe otherwise I'd continue the electrolytes and probiotics and wait.

No temp on her but her herd mate has really bad diarrhea now. Like brown water, last night she was pooping normal pellets and this today. No fever and is eating, drinking, and playing.

This doe got into the power punch while I was trying to get the sneezing doe to actually take it, normally they hate the stuff so I didn't think she would mess with it... I should have learned to never think that by now but I guess I haven't figured that out yet. Well she tipped it over and was drinking/eating the dirt/puddle of the stuff on the ground before I shooed her away, I'm sure she ate more then she should have. Is that a possible cause of diarrhea.

I've also been upping the amount of grain in their ration since we have cold winters and I like to make the change slowly, so I wouldn't think that would have been an issue.

If she's not better in a day or so I'm having the vet come out. Sneezing, and diarrhea, if I see one more symptom I'm going to really start freaking out! Worse then I already am anyway.

You may consider taking a fecal to the vet on the goats. The power punch might have been the cause but it could be internal parasites blooming if the immune system is down for whatever reason.

Slowly upping the grain shouldn't cause a problem unless the grain is especially dusty, then it could cause the sneezing.

I'm going to do that, and I might have the vet come out as well. No more diarrhea or sneezing, but a couple of the goats had clear discharge from the nose and one had more some clear tearing from one eye so I think they might have caught something. Anything come to mind that can cause sneezing, diarrhea, runny nose and eyes? And what should I do in the meantime, it will be a few days before the vet can make it out here.

my 2 ND's had something similar and the people that we bought them from (we've only had them for 2 weeks) suggested giving a dose of LA200. its a general purpose antibiotic delievered Intramuscularily (IM) with a shot, depending on species and weight. for my ND's i used .8 ml delivered with a 3/4 inch 18ga needle.
