trimming your goats hooves?

Done with the first doe....and sure glad. She was pretty good though.

The second doe however does not like her back feet touched and when I started working fights me ever time till she gets me to let go and I just keep going back at it. She was so hot and tired, so was I. Her feet are not bad at all and managed to get them done at one setting, thankfully.

Two goats left to go.

Are they well behaved? Then I would not mind. I like tedious work actually. I am a perfectionist, unfortunately or try to be.

They are well behaved most times. Part of our milking herd, so they are used to lots of handling.

Thats good!

My buck is a registered saanen, he is a good boy so far.

I have one togg doe and she is the one I did tonight. She does not like her back feet touched and worked on for sure. She got a work out too though.....:p I worry she will have a heart attack getting her self so worked up.

I don't have a station yet and not giving grain maybe that would help? I jsut tie them up. They are not use to being handled or worked with so it may just take time too.

Ours get on the stand and usually don't flinch much as long as there's feed in front of them. Only problem is DH made our stand so HUGE you have to climb up on it and straddle the goats to reach their back feet.

I really, really want a smaller milk stand. *sigh*

I get a few kicks when the bowls empty! But I have the same problem with my stanchion my husband buillt. Perfect for milking...but I gotta climb up and straddle to do back feet as well. By the time I get everyone done Im a little sore from being hunched over for so long!! I want a smaller one for hoof trimming only. That would work great!!!

Funny I just did mine yesterday...spa day in the barn, everyones feet trimmed and washed!!!

She did not have so much of a problem with me pick up the foot after a while it was when I went to cut she would jerk and pull. She does handstands

Hopefully the last one won't be so bad and the buck is not that hard either. Except he has trouble standing on 3 legs.....cause he is lazy and so big, I guess.
