Hello!

After many years of living in the suburbs, my husband and I just recently moved out to the "boonies." We have 4 acres and big dreams. Our goals are to have some chickens, goats, donkeys, and horses, but they'll be small steps towards each. We still have our other home to sell, a chicken coop to refurbish, fences to put up, more shelters to put up, etc. We currently have 5 dogs of varying ages and breeds, so my hands are also pretty full already hahah

So basically, I'm here to live vicariously through you all, and to make sure I get off to the right start when we're ready to dive in. I'm also hopeful to make connections with others nearby :)

Another big Howdy and Welcome from the Great Lone Star State, where Honesty! the stars at night are big and bright! Sit a spell, grab that there iced tea, we'll be switchen shortly to hot tea, and prop those feet up. We're casual here. Don't mind that dog, he doesn't have a lick of sense, but he loves people. We're just tickled to have you.

It is always good to read what others have done and maybe learn from their mistakes. One big lesson I've learned in reading "how to raise" books is to determine where the author lives in relationship to where you live. Advise for someone in Vermont may not be the best advise for someone living in Texas, or in your case South Carolina. Just saying beat what you read against your own weather/circumstances/finances/ability and go from there.

Heck, we love new people and we all like to share our experiences and pictures. Pictures! We run on pictures. Get the hint? Please and thank you so very much.

I'm having an incredibly difficult time interacting with the forum as the connection seems to reset often and the pages quit loading for me, even though I can continue to browse the rest of the internet. I'll keep trying, but there's something wrong. Even trying to post this reply...it doesn't advance, it just thinks about it and leaves me on the page. If there are any ideas, please share them :/

Thanks!
