I have a Nigerian dwarf that I bought this month and she was supposedly breed in Jan. Today she gave birth to two very tiny baby goats. One is eating well and the other is able to eat from a kitten sized bottle. They are about 4 hours old and meeping and walking around. She gave birth to her first kid in November could she have gotten pregnant then?

How soon after giving birth can they breed? Thanks for looking. Will post pictures when I have more light.

I have goats that were bred on Oct 12 that are due next week. Usually if a goat gives birth more than 10 days early the kids have a slim chance of surviving so if yours are up walking and nursing and more than a month early something doesn't quite add up.

I hope they do well for you. Keep them warm and make sure the bottle one is getting colostrum and hopefully you can beat the odds. Would love to see pictures.

BTW, I see that you are in Red Bluff, CA so welcome neighbor; I live in Anderson

Here is a link to see the little guys. I hope that it works. I did a little info digging and it shows that the kids will have all their hair at 4 months along and the teeth just starting to erupt from the gums and this about describes them. The math does not work...

One:
They weigh about a pound each about 8 inches long and less then 6 high. She was bred to a pygmy before I bought her. She herself is on the small side.

SFC: I got her two weeks ago so I do not have the total history of her only what I have gotten from the previous owner.

Edit: Mom and babies are doing well this morning.

They seem pretty vigorous which is good. And just too cute. Definitely keep us updated on how they are doing. And more pictures :) Sometimes the little guys can be the most amazing.

Sadly we lost the large brown girl. She had a herniated umbilical cord it ruptured and she had to euthanize her. But the smaller girl is doing well and has gained about a pound overnight and has grown. She seams to be nursing well and is mobile. We were worried that she would not make it, but seams very strong. I do have pictures of the little one though.
