We've had rabbits for years and years and after years and years of cleaning out icky smelly Magot ridden trays we decided to make the switch to earth worm beds! I got ahead of myself and made all of the plans for the new cages and bought all of the lumber and wire and stuff, before I got all of my questions asked. Is 4 inches going to be deep enough? Also I read rabbit pee can make the soil to salty for the worms and you should remove pee spots. I know it sounds dumb but I couldnt help but think that when soup gets to salty you throw a potato in it to suck it up, is there something that will take the salt out of the soil if you add it? Is it just red worms I want or should I add some earth worms in there?

I've read that a foot deep is best but thus far I have no personal experience

We've considered them a couple times but I know from the sources we looked at they were kind of expensive to order monthly for us. We might this summer
